Dr. Wilderman: We've made a commitment to technology here in our office. We have two kinds of lasers, both the hard tissue laser and the soft tissue laser. The hard tissue laser is used in smile design. The soft tissue laser is used for accessing decay and taking impressions. It just makes for a much cleaner impression. A clean impression makes for a better restoration.
We have an investment in digital radiography here. We take x-rays with digital technology. It has about 90% less radiation than standard x-ray taking. We work with specialists that use the ICAT image technology and that enables them to place implants for us in the exact location. It's a three-dimensional x-ray technology that gets the implants in the exact location we need them to be so that, again, the patient gets a better restoration in the end.
We also have in our office a one-single-tooth anesthesia system. Unlike conventional injections where there is residual anesthesia long after the procedure is over with, where your lip is numb and your tongue is numb, with the wand, I'm able to take a very, very tiny needle, insert it between the tooth and the gum and numb one single tooth so that after the procedure is over, you can go right and eat once again because there is no waiting period, for the anesthetic to wear off. It's just wonderful technology. The patients don't even realize they've had an injection.
